The Human-Animal Bond Group:

Featuring the real or imaginary bonds that exist between people and animals.

The aim of this group is to capture all bonds in their entirety and beauty whether it be through love, kinship, companionship, war, death, ritual or anything else. Each work (excluding crafts and poetry) contains two elements - 1. a person (or human-like being) and 2. a creature of this world or beyond. All genres welcome. All deviants welcome.

For works depicting the everlasting bonds
 between people and animals even 
after death as well as ritualistic 
or mystical bonds.
For works depicting a creature who is 
part human, part animal - werewolves, 
vampires, etc.

  The Wolven PrideThe Wolven Pride:
We are hunted down as monsters;
By legends demonised.
We are feared as devilish creatures
In your pitiful human eyes...
But let me try and teach you
Of why we do not fear.
Because we actually enjoy it
When the hunters seek us here.
In the forest we are champions
In the night we rule the lands.
The hunter becomes the hunted
And dies by our hands.
Fangs will pierce his fragile throat
His flesh is torn to shreds.
It is the fear and scent of death
That the hunter truly dreads.
But we alone shall know no fear
For by the moon we shall be blessed.
Draped in Luna's loving embrace;
We bet our life with every breath.
Unkillable, untouchable
That is who we are.
The wolven pride of werewolves
Is arrogance from afar.
Viewed by trembling creatures
Wetting themselves in fright.
We appear as snarling punishers
In the glory of the night.
Here in the deepest shadows
Where the light will never reach.
We silence the mouths of humans
For we tire of what they preach:
"Lord protec   The Dog and Her Man and Two BearsThe dog hugged my shoulder as we stared at our fire.
I was naked, save for shotgun, with her fur on my skin. Her eyes glowing amber, as she said, "Man, we did well tonight."
"You were a sight to see," I agreed, "when I finally got out of the tent."
"It took you a while,"
"I was scared."
"So was I," said she. "Those bears had me outmatched and cornered, outnumber by tooth and by paw. I was barely holding them off."
"Girl, you were. I saw. I saw. It took me a while, I know," I confessed. "I was moving like ice, but I could sure hear the fight, that horrible sound of bear jaws clicking and clicking. I feared for your life, so I got the gun loaded, at last, and crawled naked out of the tent."
"And what exactly, dear Man, was your next intent?"
"To manfully stand, gun aimed and steady, and to shout, 'Go away bears, or I'll shoot!"'
"That's not what came out," said the dog with a grin, and with a thought that amused her deeply within. "You squeaked like a mouse."
Then she gave me a lick.
